Kesko purchased cooling solutions from Scancool

During a massive refrigeration project that started in 2006 Scancool has replaced the entire refrigeration system in Kesko's central storehouse in Hakkila, Vantaa. Scancool has installed refrigeration equipment in about 30 000 square meters of cooled storage space. Half of the space is completely new space while the other half consists of restored old refrigeration facilities. The final stage of this large project was completed just before the summer of 2010.

Real Estate Chief Jarmo Rytkölä from Keslog Oy (the company in charge of Kesko's real estate and logistics) and Business Director Altti Seinelä from Scancool's Cool Division say that this has been a large and challenging project.

– A major part of the work was carried out in the production interface, co-ordinating the storehouse's daily routines with, among other things, busy forklift traffic.

Uncomplicated and smooth

Mr. Rytkölä praises Scancool's cost efficiency, uncomplicated approach and strong determination to establish a long-term partnership.

– At the planning stage we put out a tender for potential suppliers. Scancool was the only supplier that expressed a genuine desire for continuity and partnership. We were not after any quick-draw prices. What we wanted was sustainable, cost-efficient and environmentally friendly solutions. Scancool's solutions met with our requirements, and we have been very satisfied with our co-operation. Scancool has readily complied with our requests – and also smoothly provided "after-care" after the project was completed.
